Cheong Fatt or Blue Mansion is a luxurious architectural creation owned by Cheong Fatt Tze, a merchant. This mansion was built around 1880 at Leith Street, George Town, Penang, Malaysia. Aside from this place, this blue mansion has extended its complete replica in other places such as Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and China.
This mansion on its origin is a perfect representation of Malaysian culture. Cheong Fatt Tze mansion is also created so that the descendants of the said master could live there. The land plot being chosen was first consulted to the feng shui masters who are known for giving paramount advice, while his Hakka friends as well as other relatives preferred to build a modernized mansion using Anglo-Indian theme. Cheong Fatt approved both of the recommendations. Upon building the mansion, Cheong Fatt had the artisans from Southern China.
